We are pleased to announce that Paradise Bay Pet Resort is taking the steps necessary to become the first and only .Green. pet boarding and day care facility in Las Vegas!
Environmental protection is a priority for the continued health of our planet. Paradise Bay Pet Resort is committed to providing you and your pet with services in a manner that will safeguard and sustain our environment, now and well into the future.
We are just beginning this journey and have a long way to go, but efforts have begun and we are well on our way to reducing
our impact on the environment.hank you for your continued support and patronage.
Green Efforts Currently Underway
- We recycle all plastics, aluminum, glass, paper, and plastic bags.
- We print only when necessary, and when we do, we print double-sided at all times.
- We make scrap paper out of paper that would otherwise be recycled . giving it an extra life.
- We turn off lights when rooms are not in use, and make use of natural light in rooms with windows.
- We have switched out all fluorescent lighting with energy-efficient T-8 bulbs.
- We use energy-efficient CFL light bulbs.
- We use biodegradable cat litter.
- We use an online, paperless fax system.
- We use eco-friendly cleaning products.
- We use 100% recycled paper products.
- We turn off all computers at night.
- We have joined the Nevada Energy Cool Share program to conserve energy.
- We maintain our programmable thermostats at the Nevada Energy recommendation of 78 degrees in the warm months and 68 degrees in the cool months.
- We have window films installed on all windows to reduce the sun.s heat from entering the facility.
- We have installed a newer, energy-efficient heating and cooling unit.
- We have live green plants throughout our facility to improve air quality.
- We use old t-shirts as rags for cleaning and launder them instead of using paper towels.
- We do not purchase bottled water. Instead, we use refillable five-gallon jugs with a water cooler for customers and staff (and use recyclable cups).
- We use recycled materials for renovations, when possible (old tiles that we'd otherwise throw away, leftover paint, etc.).
- We recycle CFL light bulbs.
- We use recycled printer cartridges and recycle them when the ink runs out.
- We have upgraded our credit card machine to a newer, energy efficient model that uses less paper
- We offer .Receipts on Demand.. The receipt printing mode on our register is turned off; each client is asked at the end of their transaction if they.d like a receipt or not.
- We encourage employees to utilize eco-friendly means of transportation to and from work (carpooling, public transportation, scooters).
- We return plastic bags that people send food in so they can recycle them and use again.
- We support other local .green. businesses.
